TLC News September 2020

We have so much to tell you this month! Let’s start with some super news…

10 New Patients!

Of course, our biggest news this month was receiving the Lottery funding to help us to expand our service offering adding counselling for those with long term and life-limiting conditions that have had a break in their treatments due to Covid. In just the last couple of weeks, we have accepted 10x new patients. Providing them with a nice mix of our complementary therapies including hypnotherapy, massage and Reiki as well as quite a few that have requested counselling due to the high levels of anxiety surrounding Covid. Please remember, you are not alone, our services are fully funded – although we do get referrals from GPs, you can contact us for yourself, a friend or a family member.

Ann Farmer Joins the Team

The lovely Ann Farmer has joined our team and is working closely with Gemma. A long-time supporter of TLC, Ann is a qualified counsellor and therapist. Ann is also very experienced at supporting our families as well as our service users. Ann is already having a massive impact with both patients and in the office, which is becoming super organised.

Smile for TLC

We have joined the wonderful initiative Amazon run called Smile. Smile donates to charitable concerns like TLC. It takes just a couple of seconds to sign up and doesn’t cost you the shopper a penny, however, every time you purchase something from Amazon, they donate a percentage of the sale to us here at The Lighthouse Centre. We have had quite a few people sign up and already had people shopping through the Smile at Amazon which means we will be receiving funds from Amazon. If you do shop at Amazon please consider using Smile and helping us to raise some much-needed funds, the more funds we have the more people we can help and support. Christmas Raffle

You may have seen on our social media posts that we are going to have an online raffle this Christmas. Yes, we know it is early to be talking about Christmas, but we are trying to get super organised this year and with all of the restrictions and uncertainty it gives us all something lovely to look forward to. The event will be exactly the same as a normal raffle just held and drawn online. We really need your help with raffle prizes. Whether you are a local business and would like to donate a product or service or if you have any unwanted and unused gifts floating around, we would love to have them in our raffle. All of the funds raised will be used to fund the services we provide to those with long term cancers and other life-limiting conditions. All donations are greatly received, if you are local we can pick them up from you, alternatively, you can pop them into our office or post them to The Lighthouse Centre, Burlington offices, Wellingborough Road, Northampton, NN1 4EU.

Think Pink!

On Friday 30th of October is our Think Pink! Day. Wear pink and in support of TLC. You can do this with your friends or colleagues, the pinker the better! It doesn’t matter if your pink is a t-shirt, shoes, lipstick, tie, socks or your hair!! Take a snap and tag us in your social post – pics or it didn’t happen! We have run this event before and it has been a lot of fun seeing everyone’s pictures, usually we suggest that each participant makes a small donation to our Virgin Money page, but you might want to tax those that don’t get involved instead – however you decide to get involved, we hope you will have fun!
